I.d. Students demonstrate leadership skills and innovation in a diverse and global environment.

To learn to evaluate critically, reflect, and problem solve, in LIS 6409 Introduction to Library Administration I worked on a project proposal and a strategic plan. In LIS 6110 History of Libraries, I demonstrated effective communication skills by participating in weekly discussion boards and in a project to edit Wikipedia in order to enhance library pages. For professional engagement I wrote a letter of advocacy for LIS 6445 Seminar in Public Libraries. For community engagement, my library hosts an annual reading festival for our county and I was able to participate and help in the children's activities. Lastly, to learn about leadership skills and innovation I put together a poster on the roles of information professionals for LIS 5020 Foundations of Library and Information Science.
